Mission Statement

Dream it.

My vision to establish a practice began years before earning degrees or titles. It began with a passion to study and better understand human behavior so that I could help people, help themselves. My practice epitomizes my approach to helpful treatment, tailoring services to the individual and not his/her/their diagnosis. I pride myself on demonstrating the utmost professionalism and courtesy to every person I work with. I understand that when we are seeking help, we are feeling vulnerable and unsure about which direction to turn to and I respond with humility and compassion. Building a trusting relationship is what matters most to me. Your goals are designed by You, with some assistance per your request, and I will work with you until you are fully satisfied. And I enjoy incorporating humor into my work with clients! This mission statement applies to all the services I provide since each service requires listening, caring, understanding, helping, and working towards meeting your desired goals!

Use it.

Therapists employ different treatment modality formats to help clients work through their issues. Some therapists use psychodynamic and psychoanalytic theory while others rely on cognitive or behavioral approaches. Often clients are not well-versed on the differences between and among these various formats or approaches. The following video offers a brief, concise and comprehensive overview so that you may educate yourself on treatment modality formats.

Benefits of Participating in Online Therapy

It all begins with the decision to seek help. Maybe you want to improve your relationship. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into a livelihood. Or maybe you want to feel more satisfied with how you spend your days. Whatever it is, the process of talking with a trained professional can help.

Telehealth is cost-efficient, stigma-reducing, and an answer to the question, where is healthcare going in the 21st century!

“I’ve worked with my share of therapists over the years and I found that Dr. Nikou’s instincts were spot on. She seemed to be a few steps ahead of me which helped her to ask the right questions and offer the right answers. She is clearly qualified but natural ability can’t be taught in a room!”
